Steep, deep, challenging terrain

STEEP & DEEP IN THE TREES

The interior of British Columbia Canada is rightfully regarded as the premier heli ski destination on the planet, famed for consistent powder throughout the season (think 12 meters per year!) and huge expanses of terrain.  But dig a little deeper and you will also find some of the most challenging skiing on the planet.  Enjoy 1,000 vertical meter runs in steep (but perfectly spaced) trees at CMH Monashees and at CMH Galena you can ski and ride in the ultimate powder playground with pillow drops galore.  And for those who want to hone their freeride skills with a pro-skier, join our Steep Shots & Pillow Drops camps in CMH Kootenay where you will learn how to get big air and ski pillows from our guides and athletes.  CMH Bobbie Burns rounds off the list as our go-to choice for fast paced heli skiing for those looking to maximise their vert.

SPINE TINGLING ALASKA

AK is (rightly) famous for steep skiing and this pedigree is well deserved.  Topologically, Alaska has the perfect terrain for steep skiing with ‘spines’ and couloirs littering the mountain-scape and combine this with a stable maritime snow-pack and you have the perfect recipe for world-beating steep heli skiing!  Based out of a remote lodge the heli skiing is in two or three groups of four guests per group, serviced by one A-Star helicopter.  Bring your own crew of four to ensure your abilities match.

Where to Ski

Canada and Alaska will be your best bet on finding steep heli skiing. Monashees Lodge & Galena Lodge are world famous for their steep tree skiing. The Bobbie Burns is known for its fast pace steep heli skiing and Alaska’s terrain is purely one for adventurer’s – expect steep couloirs and gullys and sheer mountain faces.
